GARDINER — An evening of Dan Fogelburg music presented by Don Campbell is set for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at Johnson Hall.

Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Dan Fogelberg was a multi-platinum selling artist, with hits such as “Leader of the Band,” “Longer,” “Same Old Lang Syne” and a large and diverse catalog of more than 20 albums. He passed away in 2007. On November 13, 2012, Don Campbell released a double CD, “Kites To Fly: Celebrating the Music of Dan Fogelberg” and in January, 2013, began presenting live performances of this music around the country. Campbell received an Independent Music Award Nomination for the album an was officially endorsed in April of 2014 by the Fogelberg Association.

Campbell is a singer-songwriter, composer and multi-instrumentalist whose music is inspired by sources as diverse as the Celtic and Canadian Maritimes music of his family to Dan Fogelberg, Vince Gill, the Beatles and novelist, Stephen King. Writing in genres including adult contemporary, country, Celtic, Christmas, bluegrass, and rock, Campbell has released 12 CDs, most recently a two-disc, 23-song collection, “Kites To Fly: Celebrating The Music Of Dan Fogelberg”. Co-based in Portland, Main,e and Nashville, Tennessee, Campbell averages between 150-200 performances per year primarily with the New England-based Don Campbell Band and smaller ensembles, including the nationally touring Restless Campbells. He will release a new original adult contemporary project in the coming months.
