HALLOWELL — The Gaslight Theater will stage “A Murder is Announced,” by Agatha Christie, adapted for the stage by Leslie Darbon, and directed by Linda Duarte.

The residents of Chipping Cleghorn are astonished to read an advertisement in the local newspaper that a murder will take place this coming Friday at Little Paddocks, the home of Letitia Blacklock. Staying at the house is Miss Blacklock, Bunny, Julia and her brother Patrick, Phillipa and Mitzi the house maid.

Unable to resist and along with neighbors, the Swettenhams, the group gather at the house at the appointed time, when the lights go out and a gun is fired.

When two murders have taken place, Miss Marple and a detective must work their way through a house full of suspects.

As we might suspect, Miss Marple, using her excellent deductive skills, determines the facts of the crime.
