AUGUSTA — Lithgow Public Library will host an informational workshop on early detection of Alzheimer’s at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, in the program room of Lithgow’s temporary quarters at the Ballard Center, 6 E. Chestnut Street.

The warning signs of Alzheimer’s disease are often dismissed as side effects of normal aging. If you or someone you know is experiencing memory loss or changes in behavior or thinking skills, it’s time to learn the facts. Early detection, diagnosis and intervention are vital because they provide the best opportunities for treatment, support and planning for the future.

Presented by the Maine chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, attendees can learn the 10 warning signs of Alzheimer’s disease, hear from people who have the disease, and find out how to recognize the signs in others.
