Christian Hunter, 16, of China, a Life Scout in Troop 479, recently completed his Eagle Scout Project at Quaker Hill Cemetery in Unity.
His project was to build a new perimeter fence, straighten grave stones, build benches for the graveyard and plant tulip bulbs.
Many members of the community helped Hunter with his project. Russell Hunter, his uncle, donated the cedar logs, which his grandfather Brian Warman and his uncle Eric Warman help him to cut into the lumber for the fence and benches. Mac’s True Value in Unity donated the stain for the benches and assisted Christian with finding the correct hardware for the project. The Cemetery Committee in Unity donated money for the hardware. Richard Moore donated eggs for lunch during his project and Hannaford in Waterville donated cups and napkins.
Natasha Reynolds, Christian’s mother Chrissy Hunter and his grandmother Lynn Warman made lunch for the crew.
The Troop 479 Committee gave input that helped with the project. Troop members who helped that day included Scott Christiansen, Tucker Leonard, Doug Leonard, Jeshua Ryan, Nivek Boostedt, Michael Boostedt and Keven Boostedt. Also helping were Keith Hunter, Ezekiel and Daniel Littlefield, Matt Reynolds, Amber Hunter, Todd Pekel, Gage Carson and Joyce Larrabee.
