Nobody was hurt Monday morning when a pickup truck caught fire on Pearl Street in Augusta.
The fire, which was reported around 8:30 a.m. at 37 Pearl St., destroyed the Chevrolet pickup truck, Fire Chief Roger Audette said in a release. Firefighters watered down an apartment building that Audette said was only about six feet away.
“We were very worried about it extending to the house. However, quick work kept it at bay,” Audette said.
Audette is not sure how the blaze started.
