Augusta firefighters for the second time this week doused a vehicle fire Wednesday morning.
Augusta Fire Chief Roger Audette said the fire at 183 Northern Ave. was reported around 9:15 a.m.
Audette said the car, a red sedan, was destroyed, but there were no injuries.
“The driveway was long and unplowed, so we had to drag hose lines a long way,” Audette said.
The fire was the city’s second this week. Firefighters on Monday were sent to Pearl Street to deal with a fire that destroyed a Chevrolet pickup truck.
That fire, too, caused no injuries, but it threatened a nearby apartment building.
Audette is unsure how either of the fires started.
