Six Maine companies, including a brewery, two honey producers, two candy makers and a cannery, took home 2016 Good Food Awards.
The Maine winners were announced Friday in San Francisco. The Maine companies were among 242 winners from a field of 1,927 entrants competing in 13 different categories.
The national competition is in its sixth year. Winners receive the right to use the Good Food Awards seal on their winning product.
Maine winners include: Rising Tide Brewing Co., Portland, Daymark beer; Bixby & Co., Rockland, Nutty for You confection; Black Dinah Chocolatiers, Isle au Haut, Maine Mint Truffle confection; Gold Star Honeybees, Farmingdale, Gold Star Honey; Posto Bello Apiaries, Rockland, honey; Turtle Rock Farm, Brunswick, Garlic Scape Relish.
