Maine State Police on Thursday arrested three people on charges connected to a theft of lights from a store in China, according to a news release from state police spokesman Stephen McCausland.

Tricia Barry, 42, of Edgecomb and formerly of Augusta, Lisa Gosselin, 40, of Edgecomb, and Mark James, 40, also of Edgecomb, are accused of stealing lights on Dec. 22 from Laverdiere’s General Store. Police say the trio then traded the lights — described as grow lights used for growing marijuana and valued at more than $500 — for heroin hours later.

All three are charged with theft by unauthorized taking or transfer. Barry also is the subject of two unrelated arrest warrants from Kennebec County.

Investigators from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and Lincoln County sheriff’s deputies helped with the investigation. The lights have not been recovered.

All three suspects are being held at the Two Bridges Jail in Wiscasset, according to police.
