Gardiner City Council member Terry Berry announced recently that he is running for Senate District 14.
Berry, a real estate broker for 36 years, said in a news release that he is interested in affordable housing, taxes and education. A native of Waterville, he is currently a Gardiner resident. He is a member of the Kennebec Valley Board of Realtors, a Mason, a member of the Order of Elks and the Rotary.
Berry has filed to run as a Democrat. Senate District 14 consists of Chelsea, Farmingdale, Gardiner, Hallowell, Manchester, Monmouth, Pittston, Randolph, Readfield, West Gardiner and Winthrop.
The seat is currently held by Sen. Earle McCormick, R-West Gardiner. Last month, Democrat George O’Keefe Jr. of Winthrop announced his intention to run for the seat as a Democrat.
