No serious injuries were reported Tuesday after a Regional School Unit 2 bus struck a sedan shortly before 4 p.m. on Maine Avenue.
The Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office says the driver of the northbound bus, Sherren Hix, 54, of Windsor, failed to see the silver four-door 2007 Mazda stopped in traffic in front of her and struck the rear of the car, causing minor damage.
Neither Hix nor the Mazda’s driver, Jacob Bennett, 19, of Augusta, was injured; but Bennett’s passenger, Tammy Allen, 44, of Farmingdale, complained of pain and was taken to MaineGeneral Medical Center for treatment.
No students were on the bus.
Bennett was issued a summons for failure to provide evidence of insurance.
