SIDNEY — Voters on Saturday approved a $1.6 million municipal budget, a slight decrease from last year’s budget.
The meeting was swift, starting at 9 a.m. and ending at 10:45 a.m., according to Sheila Thorne, the administrative assistant to the Board of Selectmen. Voters approved all 40 warrant articles. Roughly 75 people attended, she said.
Sidney’s $1,645,058 budget is roughly 1.7 percent, or about $24,800, less than last year’s, Thorne said. Voters also accepted 1,400 feet of Pepin Road, off Shepard Road, as a town way.
In the municipal election Friday, incumbent Selectwoman Kelly Couture won a three-year term on the board and Sandra Tibbetts won a two-year seat. There were no contested races. Tibbetts replaces Peter Schutte, who did not run for re-election.
