The Hartford Yard Goats utilized 11 hits and some wild Portland pitching to beat the Sea Dogs 6-2 Saturday afternoon at Hadlock Field.

Sea Dogs starter Ty Buttrey (0-2) hit three batters and walked two. He gave up four hits and three runs over 51/3 innings. One of the hits was a solo home run by Pat Valaika.

Hartford starter Harrison Musgrave pitched seven strong innings, allowing three hits and two runs.

The two teams will meet again Sunday at 1 p.m. at Hadlock Field.
