Kyle Knuppel and jazz guitarist Matt Davis will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at the Vienna Union Hall. For this performance, they will be joined by friend, Peter Gaudioso, a vocalist, composer and arranger who has worked with Knuppel and Davis since the late 90s.

Knuppel will soon graduate from Maine Dartmouth Family Practice Residency. Before starting a new career as a family doctor, he made a living as a singer-song writer in NYC.

Gaudioso, was a drummer first and foremost and vocalist second. He played with Aerial Photograph in the late 90s as well as other well known jazz bands. He also sang back up in a cover band for four years. In 2007, after developing tendinitis in his left hand, drumming eventually became too painful and he turned to singing. He studied with Bobby McFerrin, an “ear opening” experience. He likes to mix things up and combine different styles. He will take the familiar Cole Porter, Gershwin or Jimmy Van Heusen and combine with something somber from Billy Strayhorn. He takes the familiar and turns it into something new and fresh.

It is possible this will be Knuppel’s last concert at the Hall since it is unclear where he will go to practice medicine after finishing at MDFPR. Do

Tickets cost $8 in advance or $10 at the door.
