A Waterville man with an arrest warrant for a probation violation in New York state was arrested Thursday morning in New Hampshire on drug charges.

Taheen Mungo, 34, was a passenger in a 2016 Dodge Charger driven by Lacie Chapman, 32, of Lewiston, when the car was pulled over by a New Hampshire State Police trooper for allegedly following another car too closely in Interstate 95. The stop was on the northbound side of the interstate near the town of Greenland, according to a news release.

Mungo was taken into custody on the arrest warrant and Chapman reportedly consented to a search of the vehicle. Trooper Haden Wilber, along with his narcotic detection dog, Gauge, located about 190 grams of suspected crack cocaine hidden inside the vehicle.

Chapman was arrested on charges of conspiracy and possession of a narcotic drug with intent to distribute, according to the New Hampshire State Police news release.

Mungo is being charged with being a fugitive from justice and possession of a narcotic drug with intent to distribute. Both Chapman and Mungo were arraigned on the charges in 10th Circuit Court in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Mungo is being held in lieu of $50,000 cash bail and Chapman is being held in lieu of $5,000 cash bail, according to the release.
