BURNHAM — A St. Albans man was arrested for allegedly firing a handgun into the air and threatening his ex-girlfiend, according to a news release from the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office.

Ryan Curtis, 21, was arrested at 2:20 a.m. Saturday on charges of domestic violence terrorizing, a Class D misdemeanor; violence terrorizing, a Class D misdemeanor; and reckless conduct, a Class D misdemeanor.

A woman at the scene when police arrived said Curtis was her ex-boyfriend and that he had come to the residence where she was staying as a guest.

Curtis allegedly fired a handgun into the air more than once and told the woman to leave. According to the news release, witnesses said that Curtis also threatened to shoot the woman. Police recovered a firearm at the scene.

Curtis was transported to the Waldo County Correctional Center and was released on $1,000 cash bail.
