A Sidney man was sentenced in federal court Wednesday to 40 months in prison and three years of supervised release for possession with intent to distribute heroin and fentanyl, according to a press release from U.S. Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II.

Shawn Figoli, 45, was arrested in May 2015 after the Maine State Police responded to a report of a vehicle being operated erratically on the Maine Turnpike. The trooper found the vehicle and Figoli at the Kennebunk Service Plaza. Figoli appeared to be impaired and had a bag that contained about 180 grams of heroin and fentanyl, according to the press release.

The case was investigated by the Maine State Police and U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
