JEFFERSON — Julie Bond Stegna will be the Jefferson Historical Society’s featured speaker at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, at the Jefferson Fire and Rescue Building on Route 32. Stegna, who accompanied her father Ralph Bond on an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., will show photos and share stories of their adventure.
Ralph Bond was one of several World War II veterans who experienced this three-day trip in June. Bond served in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1943 to 1945, stationed at several southern airbases, completing pilot training and became a co-pilot on B-24 heavy bombers.
Other WWII veterans from the area are invited. The program will be followed by a brief JHS business meeting.
