A car was split in two during an accident that took place early Thursday evening around 6 p.m. on Townsend Road near Barnes & Noble in Augusta.
The Mitsubishi Lancer struck several small trees and the Jaws of Life were used to free the driver and passenger from the wreckage.
Smaller shattered pieces of the vehicle were scattered about the street.
As a result of the crash, the road was blocked off to the public.
Police were not immediately available for comment.
