RANGELEY — The Rangeley Lakes Snowmobile Club will hold its Snodeo 2017 Jan. 19-21. Events start with The Chili Chowder Cook-off sponsored by the Rangeley Lakes Chamber of Commerce, Thursday, Jan. 19, at The Gingerbread House in Oquossoc.

There will be three categories of chili: mild, two alarm (medium) and three alarm (hot), and two categories for the chowder competition: fish/seafood and vegetable. A panel of judges will determine the winners. Popular vote will determine the winner of best overall chili and chowder.

Tickets cost $12 for adults or $6 for children, are available at the door or in advance at the Chamber of Commerce office, 6 Park Road. For more information, email info@rangeleymaine.com or call 864-5571.

The snowmobile club’s casino night will start at 7 p.m. at Bald Mountain Camps in Oquossoc.

On Friday, Jan. 20, pre-registration for the Rock Maple Racing Cross-Country Race and the Pro-Vintage Championships begins at 6:30 p.m. at Steven Bean Municipal Airport. Pre-registrations is available online at rockmapleracing.com and provintagechampionship.com.

Later that evening the annual Live Auction, featuring Larry Koob, is set for 6:30-9 p.m. at Snodeo Headquarters Moose Alley. All proceeds from the auction will be used for the grooming operations for the snowmobile club.

Saturday, Jan. 21, will be filled with events for all ages. Manufacturer demonstrations are planned at participating dealers, and Dom’s Auto Main St. will conduct MotoTrax demonstrations.

The Gingerbread House will host a Gingerbread men making contest, and Sno source will have marshmallows roasting next to Haley Pond. Harrison Family Riders will host the Radars Runs this year on Haley Pond. Sign up will be at Haley Pond starting at 8 a.m.

Race events will be held Saturday at the Stephen A. Bean Municipal Airport. The Rock Maple cross-country race will be a five-mile event, and the Pro-Vintage (Vintage and 120cc) will be 1/3 mile track.

Gates open at 6:30 a.m. for racers and 8 a.m. for the public. Spectator tickets cost $10 per person and is free for children younger than 12; parking is free.

Following the race, the Ravex Jumpers will start at 2 p.m. at Boss Power parking lot, Main Street.
