HALLOWELL — The Harlow Gallery will host art-related workshops and classes throughout the year. These consist of a Professional Development Series as well as various art workshops proposed and lead by individual artists.

Kerstin Gilg of the Maine Arts Commission will kick off the 2017 Professional Development Workshop Series from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, and speak about the many supports MAC offers to artists. A 30-40 minute presentation will be followed by Q & A.

Participants can learn and inquire about supports, grants and opportunities for artists. This event is free for Harlow Gallery members or $5 for non-members.

Harlow Gallery will present “Jump Start your Journaling Practice,” a workshop lead by painter and arts educator Ingrid Ellison, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29.

This class is geared toward anyone, experienced or not, who wants to begin or continue working in a visual journal. Registration must be received in order to reserve spots in this class.
