OAKLAND — An Empty Bowls fundraiser is set for 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 10, in the Messalonskee High School cafeteria. Proceeds from the event will benefit local food pantries.
Students and faculty members, under the direction of ceramics teacher Sherrie Damon, have been crafting ceramic bowls to be sold as part of the dinner. The menu for the evening will include homemade soups, salad, breads and desserts.
The pottery will be on display for diners to choose.
Cost is $10 for adults or $8 for seniors and students. This year theme baskets will be raffled.
Later that evening “Much Ado About Nothing,” will be performed by the Messalonskee High School Players at the high school. Cost is $8 for adults or $5 for seniors and students, at the door.
