SKOWHEGAN — University of Maine Cooperative Extension’s five-session class on raised bed and container gardening is set for 9-11 a.m. starting May 10 at the UMaine Extension Somerset County office, 7 County Drive.

extension staff and master gardener volunteers will lead the hands-on series. Remaining sessions will be held June 14, July 19, Aug. 16 and Sept. 13, at the same time and location.

Participants can help build raised-bed square-foot containers, then plant, maintain and harvest vegetables from them. The $20 per person fee covers all materials.
