LITCHFIELD — Blistered Fingers Bluegrass Festival is scheduled for June 14-18 at the Litchfield Fairgrounds, 30 Plains Road.
Blistered Fingers and the Bluegrass Music Association of Maine have gotten together to create a free, relaxed, informative three-day music program for children for ages 6-18 called Blistered Fingers Kids Academy. The focus is how to play, sing and perform bluegrass music. Students will bring their own instruments and will commit to the three-day program. The children all get a free T-Shirt and will perform a couple of songs as a group on Main stage.
Gates open at 8 a.m. Sunday, June 12. Weekend tickets for each festival will cover four days of music and camping.
Wednesday performers: Blue Mafia, The Misty Mountaineers and Back Woods Road.
Thursday performers: The Deer Creek Boys, Blue Mafia and The Baker Family.
Friday performers: The Boxcars, The Deer Creek Boys, Bluegrass Diamonds, The Baker Family, The Misty Mountaineers and Back Woods Road.
Saturday performers: The Gibson Brothers, Little Roy & Lizzy Long, Bluegrass Diamonds, Zink & Company, The Misty Mountaineers and Blistered Fingers.
Sunday performers: Bluegrass Gospel Sing and Jam.
Daily admissions cost $15 Wednesday, $20 Thursday, $35 Friday or Saturday ($25 after 5 p.m.), free for children 16 and younger with a paying adult, $90 all four days.
