Franklin County Children’s Task Force Make Tracks for Kids! walk and run events are planned for Saturday, Oct. 14, on a Tar-2-Trail Course through the town and forests of Farmington.
2-mile walk
Registration: 7:30 a.m.
Walk: 9 a.m.
To participate in this event, fill out a pledge form and bring it to the walk-athon.
Ask family, friends, co-workers or club members to join this year in the crusade to make a difference in the life of a child.
Pledge forms can be found by visiting the Franklin County Children’s Task Force website www.fcctf.org, by visiting its Facebook Page, or by contacting its office at 778-6960.
The route will begin at the Task Force in Farmington, going on the following roads: Church Street, High Street, Perham Street, Fair View Avenue, through Mt. Blue Middle School, onto Cascade Brook School, and back to the Task Force, which is a 2-mile walk or bike ride.
5K run
Registration: 7:30 a.m.
Run: 9 a.m.
Pre-registration: $15
Day of registration: $20
1-mile kids run
Registration: 7:30 a.m.
Run: 8:30 a.m.
Registration: $5
Both the 5K run and 1-mile run will be a combination of tar and trail. Beginning at the Task Force, runners will take off until they reach and run into Bonny Woods. Trail guides will help participants along the way From there, runners will trot along the wooded paths until they reach tar again, which will allow them to transfer to the second trail of this course, Flint Woods. Trail guides will assist runners through a series of scenic trails and then runners will return to the Task Force for awards and refreshments.
All proceeds from Make Tracks for Kids will benefit the 21st Century Kids of F.R.A.N.K.L.I.N. After School Program.
