WAYNE — “Traveling Brushes ~ Friends from Away who Paint in Wayne” will be featured during the Homes of Wayne Tour ~ Windows on the Water scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at Williams House, 14 Old Winthrop Road.

The art show and sale will be curated by Jann Haynes Gilmore, noted summer artist locally known for her watercolors of Wayne. Gilmore has voluntarily painted an original watercolor for all who have participated in the tour. Since 2007, Gilmore has painted more than 80 of Wayne’s favorite homes and landmarks.

Also known as a published author, she most recently gave a talk at the Williams House on her latest book “Olive Rush: Finding Her Place in the Sante Fe Art Colony.”

Featured artists at the Williams House will include landscape, still life and plein air painters Cecilia Clanton, of Nesbit, Mississippi; George Hamilton, of St. Michael’s, Maryland; and Haden Pickel, Nashville, Tennessee; as well as Gilmore.

An opening reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, and the art will also be available for viewing and purchase on tour day and from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, and 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Proceeds from the sales will benefit the ongoing restoration efforts for the Williams House, which is an extension of the library.
