Strangefolk will take the stage at 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19, at the Waterville Opera House, 1 Common St. in Waterville.

Strangefolk can only be described as the sum of its parts: not only the four musicians, but the community of fans they have developed over the years. Their music, storied characters woven into sing-along songs and infectious three part harmonies interpreted in a new way each night, has become the soundtrack of some people’s lives.

The band, and the sound, developed organically as four young men honed their craft on the road, traversing by day and pouring their hearts out on stage by night. A Strangefolk show is a number of things: fun, transformative, a place to let go, a hell of a party. But first and foremost it’s a gathering of this community.

Tickets cost $35 in advance or $40 the day of the show.
