With cases of the flu soaring and the usual winter cold infections in full swing, King Eider’s Pub in Damariscotta has swept in to offer help. The restaurant is offering a free quart of chicken and vegetable soup to anybody who needs one.
“Modern medicine can work wonders but a little love from the Pub might help too,” the restaurant said in a Facebook post.
It looks like they’ll get some takers on their offer. The post was shared 22 times in three hours after it was posted. The restaurant said in a Facebook message they had already given away 18 quarts of soup by 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
