FARMINGTON — Western Maine Audubon will sponsor a talk about beavers at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, in the North Dining Hall of the Olsen Student Center at the University of Maine at Farmington.

Chuck Hulsey, with the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, will speak.

The settlement of North American was largely done in pursuit of their pelts, and that feverish enterprise just about drove them to extinction. Their populations are again common and vigorous but the story of the comeback is quite remarkable.

Hulsey will lead attendees through their story and natural history.
