AUGUSTA — Capital Area Technical Center recently announced its March Students of the Month.

Benjamin Douin is a junior from Maranacook Community High School enrolled in the building construction program. He has been involved in the class project of building a tiny home. His instructor, Thomas Holzwarth, said in a news release from the center, “Ben is the best. He is dependable and has a really bright future ahead of him.” When he is not in school, Douin can be found playing on the Maranacook lacrosse and football teams, or working on his grandfather’s farm.

Douin plans to return to Capital Area Technical Center for his senior year and then will pursue a career in the cabinet making, masonry or boat building field.

Jacob Wright is a junior from Erskine Academy enrolled in the auto body program. His instructor, Phil Dow, said, “Jacob is a man of few words, but his actions make up for his lack of words. He is a hard and conscientious worker,” according to the release. Wright works after school at the Maine Veterans Home. Next year, he plans to return to Capital Area Technical Center to learn more skills.
