HINCKLEY — The L.C. Bates Museum at Good Will-Hinckley has planned a Vernal Pool Walk at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at the museum on the campus of Good Will-Hinckley, U.S. Route 201.
Visitors can learn about these uniquely ephemeral habitats, and discover which frogs and salamanders have emerged from their long winter nap.
Participants should bring a flashlight and wear boots to join the guided group walk.
Also, there is a frog program for children at 1 p.m. the same day. Children can learn about the frog life cycle, and identify the adaptations that make frog special. In honor of Save the Frogs Day, museum educators also will talk about what we can do to help our amphibious friends.
Remember, vernal pools are temporary, so discover their beauty now while they are still around.
