Hallowell Age-Friendly will host a scam awareness workshop at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 5, at Hallowell City Hall Auditorium, 1 Winthrop St., in collaboration with the AARP Fraud Watch Network.

The event can raise awareness about common scams and fraud in Maine, and will offer guidance to participants on how to avoid these crimes. Hallowell Chief of Police Eric L. Nason will be the featured speaker.

The second part of the morning program, Envisioning Hallowell’s Future, can provide participants the opportunity to share ideas on what Hallowell will look like in 20 years. Sara Grant, AARP Maine’s Age-Friendly liaison, will guide the brain-storming session, to generate information that will become part of Hallowell’s Age-Friendly Action Plan.
