AUGUSTA — The Capital Area Technical Center recently announced its April Students of the Month.

Mason Dann is a senior from Monmouth Academy enrolled in the plumbing and heating program for the second year. Dann has had perfect attendance for the two years. His instructor, Nick Smith, said, “Mason is well respected by his classmates because he is very reliable,” according to a news release from the center. When he is not in school, Dann is working odd jobs, like painting decks and mowing lawns. He enjoys fishing, snowboarding and other adventures. Dann plans a career in the plumbing and heating field.

Rachel Lathe is a junior from Cony High School enrolled in the certified nursing assistant program. Her instructor, Karen Parker said, “Rachel is a responsible, kind, positive and motivated young lady. Her timeliness and attention to detail will help her excel in the medical field,” according to the release. Lathe works at the Maine Veterans’ Home as a nurse’s assistant in training, as well as interns for the Augusta Water District. Upon graduation, Lathe plans to pursue a nursing degree.
