AUGUSTA — A Composting at Home workshop is set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 14, at the Lithgow Public Library, 45 Winthrop St.

Composting is a powerful and natural soil amendment that can make gardens thrive while reducing greenhouse gases caused by organic matter breaking down in landfills.

Caragh Fitzgerald, of the University of Maine Cooperative Extension, will conduct this free informative session on how to compost at home, whether you have a large or small space or are an experienced or beginner composter.

For more information, call the library at 626-2415 or visit lithgow.lib.me.us.
