At least one person was apparently injured in a motor vehicle accident on Windsor Road in South China Sunday afternoon.

The crash was reported around 4 p.m. in the vicinity of 574 Windsor Road and involved a pickup truck that struck a tree.

A man was transported from the scene in a LifeFlight helicopter and according to police scanner traffic, had to be extricated from the vehicle.

The truck appeared to have been traveling south when it left the road, about 200 yards from the Windsor town line.

Firefighters from China and South China and the Maine State Police also responded to the crash.

A message left for state police at the regional communications center in Augusta was not immediately returned.

Staff photographer Dave Leaming contributed to this report.
