The Art of Bard exhibit will open Friday, June 1, at The Chocolate Church Art Gallery, 804 Washington St. in Bath, to accompany the upcoming theatre production of Shakespeare’s “Macbeth.”

This intimate and powerful exhibition immediately following first performance Shakespeare’s classic tragedy.

The Art of the Bard, on display in the art gallery until June 10, explores themed works by local Maine artists, cast and members of the production crew who were inspired by the ethereal stories of the characters within the renowned Scottish play. The art show showcases a variety of mediums and is curated by Melanie Willey of Bath in partnership with Shakespeare on the Kennebec.

Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursdays, and noon to 4 p.m. Fridays.

Ticket for the reception cost $6 and includes champagne toast and light hors d’oeuvres. Tickets for the opening night reception as well as theatre tickets will cost $12 in advance or $15 at the door.
