Kennebec River Day in Mill Park drew hundreds of people Saturday to the waterfront park north of downtown Augusta.
The annual event is part of the Whatever Family Festival, which encompasses a wide range of summer activities from mid-June to the Fourth of July.
This year’s Kennebec River Day ushered in the first ever Kennebec River Brewfest, a ticketed event featuring beer offerings from brewers in Waterville, Augusta, Hallowell and Gardiner, as well as one from Portland and one from Bangor.
The Air National Guard Band of the Northeast was scheduled to play two hourlong sets, and other music was provided by area radio stations.
The event included demonstrations, crafts, food and horse-drawn wagon rides through downtown Augusta.
