Mid-Maine Global Forum held its monthly luncheon lecture event Dec. 12 at Colby College’s Chace Center in the Bill & Joan Alfond Main Street Commons building on Main Street in downtown Waterville. Prior to the presentation, the Waterville Rotary was recognized for making a donation of $1,000 to the Mid-Maine Global Forum. Louise Smith and Peter Garrett were on hand to present the donation to Steve Ball, president of the forum.

The donation provides support to the Mid-Maine Global Forum to continue its mission of exposing, educating and engaging the central Maine community on global social, political, economic and environmental issues of consequence. As part of its outreach effort, the forum offers a monthly luncheon speaker series open to the public as well as periodic programs in local high schools and international films shown at Railroad Square Cinema in Waterville.
