An individual associated with Clinton Elementary School has tested positive for COVID-19, according to Superintendent Roberta Hersom.
In a letter posted to the district Tuesday, Hersom announced the positive case and said that there are no other close contacts at the school and the Maine Department of Education and Maine Center for Disease Control & Prevention have been informed.
“I am writing to inform you of a positive case of COVID-19 at Clinton Elementary School with no other individuals at the school identified as close contacts,” Hersom wrote. “The MDOE and the Maine CDC were notified. This individual was not present in the school for any time during the infectious period.”
In total, the district has reported 27 cases of COVID-19 since the beginning of the school year.
MSAD 49 serves students from Albion, Benton, Clinton and Fairfield.
