The Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce’s annual awards, the Kenney Awards, will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. March 26. To ensure the community and the deserving winners and finalists can be celebrated safely, the 2021 Kenney Awards, presented by Kennebec Savings Bank, will be held virtually. Tickets for the event are on sale on the Kennebec Valley Chamber’s website, according to a news release from the chamber based in Augusta.

The Kenney, named for the region it hails from, is awarded annually to area businesses and professionals that are deserving of the community’s attention and recognition. The Kenney’s will recognize six awardees, with three of the awards being determined by live voting at the event.

This year’s award recipients are Woodlands Senior Living, Large Business of the Year; Sprague and Curtis Real Estate, Small Business of the Year; and Augusta Food Bank, Community Service Award.

The winners of the two remaining categories — President’s Circle and Cynergy Young Professional — will be decided and announced live. After watching short videos of the finalists in each category, attendees of the Kenney Awards will cast their votes by texting in for the finalist they wish to see take home the Kenney. Live voting is made possible by Ganneston Construction.

The President’s Circle Award finalists are Gosline Insurance Group, Highbrow, and Transco Business Technologies.

The Cynergy Young Professional Award finalists are Ranae L’Italien, Shawn Mclaughlin, and Katelyn Pushard.
