ROCKLAND — The Center for Maine Contemporary Art invites artists of all ages to join ArtLab educator Alexis Iammarino for hands-on projects to can try at home as part of ArtLab April Vacation Week.

Taking inspiration from the 2020 CMCA Biennial, the video workshops will explore the works of artists Henry Austin and Richard Van Buren. Alternating daily between Facebook livestream and pre-recorded video, these open-ended artmaking experiences invite participants to use a variety of materials to explore the relationship between organic and inorganic as well as waking life and dreamstates. Participants are invited to engage in real time or revisit the videos at their convenience. A list of materials to be used in the workshops will be made available in advance at cmcanow.org.

Join Iammarino on Facebook Livestream between 2-4 p.m. Monday, April 19, and Wednesday, April 21. Pre-recorded video activities with exploratory prompts will be posted to Facebook by noon Tuesday, April 20, and Thursday, April 22, followed by a Zoom show and tell at 3:30 p.m.

For local participants, complimentary ArtKits are available for pick up at CMCA during open hours on Thursday, April 15, through Saturday, April 18, at 21 Winter St.
