AUGUSTA — A crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck on Bangor Street seriously injured one person and closed a section of the street for more than an hour Tuesday.

The crash, which is being reconstructed by the Maine State Police, happened on Bangor Street at the foot of Murray Street, across from Dunkin’.

According to Augusta police, LifeFlight of Maine was contacted and a person was taken from the scene.

Augusta police Lt. Vicente Morris said the accident remains under investigation, and confirmed that only one person was on the motorcycle.

As a result of the accident, the motorcycle landed in the bed of the pickup truck.

State police specialist Pat Munzing, left, explains to Maine State Police cadets Tuesday the points of a collision between a motorcycle and pickup on Bangor Street in Augusta as he reconstructs the accident.
