As far back as I can remember, Mark O’Brien has been a constant positive presence in our community.

I first knew him as “Coach” during my playing days in Augusta East Little League, where he volunteered for more than 18 years, then as chairman of the school board as I went up through Farrington and Hodgkins. When I was at Cony, where I unsuccessfully attempted to break his one-time school rushing record in football, he was serving as a city councilor.

If you somehow weren’t aware of Mark’s decades of dedication to our city, it’s most likely because he’s always been motivated by public service, not personal accolades. He has never sought the spotlight, only solutions.

As a small-business owner born and raised in Augusta, there is no one I would trust more to lead this community where I hope to raise a family. Please join me in voting for Mark O’Brien on Nov. 2.
