The Rangeley Skating Club and the Rangeley Lakes Chamber of Commerce plan to host the seventh annual Rangeley Winterpaloozah event.

The celebration of winter activities and competitions is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, on Haley Pond and at Haley Pond Park, 7 Pond St.

The free event will include horse and wagon rides, ice skating, curling, pond hockey, snowshoes, kick sleds, a marshmallow roast, snow golf, snowball toss, saucer bowling, snow kiting, and snow castles, according to a news release from the skating club and chamber.

A slate of pay-to-enter competitions for the entire family, including canine members, is planned, with prizes awarded to winners in each competition. Competitions include the Dog Keg Pull, the Firewood Toss, and Buoy Ball.

The Cardboard Sled Race, for children younger than 12, does not require a fee; a prize will be awarded for the most creative sled and the fastest run.

The day kicks off at 10 a.m. with the first competition, the Cardboard Sled Race. The full schedule of events is available on the Rangeley Winterpaloozah Facebook page and at rangeleymaine.com. Hot lunch will be available starting at 11 a.m.

In addition to supporting the event, attendees can purchase of a Paloozah Pass that includes entry in all competitions. Paloozah Passes are available at Ecopelagicon, at 7 Pond St., and the chamber, at 6 Pond Road; passes will be available the day of the event as well.
