Don’t hold your breath until spring. That’s the advice that survivors of the 1952 blizzard have to offer. Several gifts have been received recently at Norlands by generous people from many places. Included are dishes from June Davis of Buckfield; a black dress and ice creepers from Stella and Allen Messer of Gray; a 1930 photo of Norlands farmer Walter Richmond, with cattle, from Norman Richmond, Lewiston. Also, an antique platter from Arlene Lowe of Farmington; black bear fur sleigh robe from Clara Howard of Dixfield; a Thomas Tracker organ and other items from David McCullough of Gorham and a microwave oven from Nathan  and Amy Trimm, Canton. Also, two Boston ferns from Rosalind Reid, enamel slop bucket from Anders Lovendahl and professional photos and color slides of Christmas at Norlands from Lloyd Richmond. Many items are always needed to keep the programs going. Included on the wish list are jardinieres, suitable for the Boston fern, a small valise to use for a doctor’s bag and costume items for the interpreters. Costume items needed include dresses, aprons, caps, petticoats, skirts, capes and shawls.
