Tristan Morton of Cub Scout Pack 603 was recognized by the Catholic Council on Scouting at a Mass on Wednesday, April 27, in St. Mary Church in Augusta.
The Mass was led by Father John Skehan and attended by the students of St. Michael School, where Tristan attends the fourth grade.
After blessing the award, Skehan pinned Tristan with the second of four medals “Parvuli Dei” that follow Catholic Scouts as they mature in the understanding of the church and their faith. Reverence is one of the 12 moral elements of Scouting, according to a news release from Chuck Mahaleris, district vice chairman for Kennebec Valley District of Scouting.
Pack 603 is chartered at the American Legion Post 205, Augusta.
Tristan, of Augusta, is the son of Jeff Morton and Marleen Lajoie.
