Paul LePage is attacking Gov. Janet Mills with false rhetoric about the Shawmut Dam and Sappi mill. LePage said Mills could, but not that she would, shut down the dam and mill. In August 2021 the Morning Sentinel published a letter Mills wrote saying “… the mill isn’t going anywhere. My administration will protect the mill and its important contributions to Maine’s economy, and we will work to restore Atlantic salmon passage by pursuing innovative solutions.”
In July 2017 during a radio interview LePage said, “I just love to sit in my office and make up ways so they’ll write these stupid stories because they are just so stupid, it’s awful.” He told school students, “Reading newspapers in Maine is like paying somebody to tell you lies.”
LePage said he makes up stories to mislead the media. LePage admitted he creates fake news. Now he’s spreading fake news about Gov. Mills.
