It was an honor and privilege for me to serve the Augusta area in the state Senate for eight years. Since I left, that seat has been filled by Matt Pouliot. I have watched him grow from a respected two-term House member into one of the most knowledgeable, effective and respected members of the Senate. He has truly become an expert in education policy and funding and has used that knowledge to help benefit his district.
In an era of unfortunate hyper-partisanship, I have watched Matt enthusiastically reach out to members of both parties to help find common ground on a variety of issues. He takes the job seriously and is a great example of what a public servant should be. I don’t know about you, but I get discouraged about the state of politics these days.
People like Matt give me hope. I hope he will have your vote.
