Hands-on activities she enjoyed have included practicing providing basic hygiene to patients, while learning anatomy has been the challenging academics in the program. Another recent hands-on activity was providing basic first aid to Law Enforcement program students that had bene pepper sprayed. She enjoyed being able to combine with another CATC program to enhance her learning.

When she is not in school, Tims spends her free time writing, reading, being outside and being with friends and family. She likes to hunt and tagged her deer on the first day of hunting season this year. Her instructor, Karen Parker, states, “Casidy is a bright, ambitious and kind young lady that excels in all aspects of the program. She is motivated to succeed.”

Tims plans to pursue further education in nursing and start her career as a registered nurse.

Myah Ladd from Readfield is a senior at Maranacook Community High School enrolled for the second year in the Graphic Design & Printing program. Ladd has been interested in drawing ever since she can remember, and spends her free time doing that. She also likes to listen to music, play video games and work. Her instructor, Jaime Clark, says, “Myah is an effective communicator across all levels which includes: students, instructors, administrators, and customers. She is getting first hand customer service skills and is a natural project manager. She always goes above and beyond what is asked of her and is in constant communication with her instructor. She helps first-year students when she can, works on ‘live’ production work and juggles her normal assigned projects. She and our only other second-year student make a great team and work well together. Other students look up to Myah and often watch her in complete amazement, as she creates her custom artwork and drawings. Myah’s artistic skills are superior and have seem to come natural to her.”

After graduation, Ladds plans to attend Kennebec Valley Community College with the goal of entering the field of medical imaging.
