WATERVILLE — Members of Waterville Project Grad 2023 club plan to hold a Spring Fling Mom and Dad’s Night Out Dance and Silent Auction.

The event is set for 8 p.m. Saturday, March 25, at O’Brien’s Event Center at 375 Main St.

The club is auctioning hundreds of items with a total value of thousands of dollars, according to a news release from Ian Murphy, club officer.

“We’ve been floored by the generosity of the local businesses,” said Project Grad volunteer and Waterville mother Karen
Spaulding. “We’re auctioning an LAG guitar from J & H, and frames for Framemakers. Meals at Bolley’s Famous Franks, Silver Street Tavern, Front + Main and Waterville House of Pizza. … Emery’s and Home Depot. People’s Salon and Spa and Apollo Salon and Spa. Tickets to Flagship and Maine Film Center and the Opera House.”

The club will list all the available auction lots at in the days leading up to the spring fling. The event will feature O’Brien’s drink specials, door prizes, and requests for the dance floor.

The auction and dance benefits Project Graduation for Waterville Senior High School’s class of 2023. Project Grad’s main goal is an overnight party for the senior class on the night of graduation.

“It’s an awesome party; we have a mind-bending mentalist, and a DJ dance party. We’ll play dodge ball and have a trivia game show,” said Spaulding. “Just as important, though, on the last night of their high school careers, it keeps them together, keeps them sober, and they get home in one piece.”

Project Grad is working with local restaurants on Dine to Donate events. Waterville House of Pizza, the Proper Pig and Mainely Brews are among the venues donating from their proceeds.

Tickets, which will be available at the door, cost $30 each, or $50 for a pair. Tickets also are available online at
