AUGUSTA — Volunteer Maine, the state service commission, honored Jenifer Tilton-Flood of Clinton at the annual meeting for election of officers.

Tilton-Flood was appointed to the commission in 2018 and, by 2020, was chair-elect and then moved to lead the board as chair in 2021. She completed her two-year term as chair in June and is succeeded by Luke Shorty of Winthrop. Tilton-Flood will continue to lead public policy work in her capacity as immediate past chair.

During her tenure the commission expanded programming despite the pandemic, increased grant funding, and undertook several key studies including the role volunteer service programs could play in addressing climate adaptation.
